With this many connectivity options, you may need more devices.

High-performance audio/video receiver that boasts multiple wireless connectivity options, six HDMI inputs and 700 watts of beautiful sound. Power, performance and more connectivity options than you’ll ever need: Introducing the Harman Kardon® networked AVR 1710S, the answer to any entertainment enthusiast’s hunger for performance and versatility. It’s got muscle: up to 700 watts (100 watts per channel). Its 7.2-channel A/V receiver is equipped with HARMAN TrueStream Bluetooth® connectivity, Apple AirPlay, vTuner™ Internet radio and Spotify Connect, giving you multiple options for streaming audio. And with six 3D-ready HDMI® 2.0 inputs, including one equipped for MHL to connect mobile devices, and two HDMI outputs, you’ll have more than enough ways to connect to everything you love – movies, HDTV, sports, MHL-equipped devices and the Roku Streaming Stick™ dongle. While the AVR 171’s connectivity alone makes it desirable, its sound really strikes a chord. It’s the first Harman Kardon AVR to feature our exclusive Natural Sound Processing (NSP), which creates a rich, enveloping surround-sound from any source – particularly with two-channel streaming content. And its EzSet/EQ™ III system automatically calibrates the AVR to your speakers and listening environment. The AVR 1710S is light, too, thanks to HARMAN GreenEdge™ certification – delivering all the power you need with low environmental impact. For those who want it all, the AVR 1710S can’t be matched.

AVR 1710S is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loaded with Features, Fantastic Sound Quality Got Home from work today and found this on my front porch set up was a breeze took all but 20 minutes and then spent the next hour or so tweaking very easy to learn basics no need for manual maybe later this weekend when I configure it on my network but for now was eager to get it up and running so I could relax with some music (for now I've been streaming progressive rock (Emerson Lake & Palmer and ...) From an iPhone through a Klipsch 5.1 Speaker setup via bluetooth using the Surround Neo:6 for music setting on the receiver and I can't tell you how pleased I am with the Sound reproduction I'm hearing just out of the box with a little manual tweaking very impressive and can't wait to spend the time this weekend configuring the network, set up AirPlay and calibrating the room to get the full potential out of this receiver. A definite Best Choice for the technology packed full featured little powerhouse this is and what makes it is the very reasonable cost to feature to quality ratio.

How to use memory and do presets

Asked by: Gpa Ken
Memory button will serve to save the current radio or vTuner station as a preset. You can store a total of 30 stations (AM and FM combined) as presets. When you want to save the currently tuned station as a preset, press the remote’s Memory button. Use the Number buttons to enter the desired preset number. To tune to a preset station: • Press the Left/Right buttons. • Press the remote’s Preset Scan button. The AVR will tune to each preset station in order for five seconds. When the desired preset is tuned, press the Preset Scan button again. • Enter the preset number using the Number buttons. For presets 10 through 30, press 0 before the preset number. For example, to enter preset 21, press 0-2-1. You can also use Auto Store as an alternate method for storing presets automatically. When you select Auto Store, your AVR will scan for any frequencies with good signal and save them as presets automatically. To use Auto Store: • In either FM or AM source, press the Info/Option button on the AVR’s remote control. • Press OK to select “Auto Store.” • Highlight “Yes” and press “OK.” Your AVR may take several minutes to complete the Auto Store process. Note that performing Auto Store will erase all currently saved preset station.

Hi guys, I have the avr171s and Sony 55xd8505 4K TV. Avr171s not support 4K 2160 P 60 HZ . Why ? only support 4K 30 HZ :( What can I do for support 4K 60 HZ ?

Asked by: fuat
The AVR1710S only does HDCP 1.4. That's why it only provides 4K @ 30Hz and 1080p content. The AVR 1710S does not support HDCP 2.2 for 4K @ 60Hz and 2160p content. The AVR1710S has the capability to by-pass the signal coming from a 4K source to a 4K capable TV. As an alternative, run it through a HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI switcher.

Does this unit have individual channel EQ and level controls? I like to apply a mid-scoop to the center channel only so it sounds less boxy and boost it so the dialogue is louder in 5.1 mixes.

Asked by: Nathan P
Yes, you can adjust individual speaker levels and settings to your preference from the AVR 1710S' OSD (On Screen Display) menu.

Can this AVR support the old ABUS connection for multiple zone 5E cable connections use?

Asked by: J Bailey
No, this AVR1710S was not design to have an A-BUS connection. It uses a CAT-5E cable for networking purposes only, you can do multi-zoning speaker connection using the available speaker terminals at the back, which has a dedicated terminal for ZONE2 speakers.
