Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product mine doesn't cut off for no reason, or get hot at -35 db to -45 db. also it has an internal cooling fan that kicks on at higher volumes -10 to +10 db. (max volume) it pushes my jvc 15 (sp-7700) speakers (8 ohms) and a set of bose 701 all (6 ohms) at once. only reason it would cut out is if your ohms rating is wrong for the stereo. (6-8ohms) 2 or 4 ohms is too much resistance and 16 ohms is not enough and will not play as loud. i love this amp i am one to put it to the test playing it full blast for hours, and it holds up very well. yes it will cut out if you crank it up for 5 mins turn it down 30 seconds then turn it up back and forth. fan cuts off when you turn it down and if you turn it up right away it does not give enough cool down time before fan turns back on... so if you gonna do it loud keep it loud or leave it down for about 10 mins between sudden bursts. (thats with all audio systems though) older systems did not have self protect mode from heat. and i cant speak for the older hk model cause i don't have one i got the hk3770. which was an upgrade from my pioneer 1986 yeah sa-1270. electronics are all sensitive!!!! this is a bi amp capable amp for bi amp speakers or you can run 2 sets that are not bi amped

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good affordable high current amplifier! Excellent receiver! The only thing I consider important that need to be said is that you need to get the update from harman pardon european site version V000.17 it comes with V000.16 and it adds Balance controls in the tone control button of the remote controller It is in th download section at then end, unzip the file and you will find a pdf with all the instructions to install this very important upgrade http://eu.harmankardon.com/harman-kardon-product-support-detail-eu/hk-3770.html

Am I able to pair Bluetooth headphones directly to this receiver? If so, how?

Can HK3770 work with a pair of these speakers: 90dB (2.83V, 1m), 4 Ohms, 95W(DIN), 180W(peak)? Since these are 4 Ohms speakers, do I directly compare its max. power handling to that of the receiver?

Asked by: Vincent Chow
It will be okay as long as your only going to use 1 pair of these speakers for your HK 3770.

i have a new HK 3770. All digital and bluetooth/ Internet and Phono inputs work . but i cant get the analog inputs to work. It says press AUx and digital keys together to get them to work - but nothing happens when i do this ? what am i doing wrong ?

Asked by: clearo
Press the AUX button and Digital button to assign the audio input to one of the source selections. For example, if your CD is connected to the analog input 1(A1), press the CD source button, and then press the AUX button to assign ANA 1 input to the CD source. Pressing the AUX button repeatedly, cycles through the available analog inputs.

I am looking for a great stereo Amp. Not fond of subwoofers and such. Stereo just seems to be so good in sound quality. Will the HK3770 deliver a good balance from music to movies? This will be used with JBL Arena 170 speakers.

Asked by: ByronTheron
The HK3770 will work beautifully with the ARENA170. This floor-standing speaker can handle power of up to 200W while the HK3770 can deliver up to 120W. This allows you to maximize your receiver's potential without the risk of causing damage to the speakers. The HK3770 is the most recent stereo receiver that was manufactured that will provide you power and deliver quality audio as expected. This also gives you additional features for your convenience like Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to be controlled by the HK Remote App.
