Esquire is rated 4.434782608695652 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound, great design I bought this looking for a high quality portable speaker, it has blown me away. I listen to hip-hop mostly and this thing plays it loud. Not as much bass as other good portable speakers but amazing sound. Design is amazing, quality is unmatched. Love it. battery is great too, lasts longer than you would ever go without charging it. Would have preferred the black and silver but im really happy with the white on silver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the business! A very smart piece of kit - great battery life, sounds fresh and bold and big, despite its small, compact suitcase-friendly form factor. If you're doing some internet research, you may read a few mixed reviews about sound quality, but since I bought mine, it seems that the Esquire is really tuned to be listened to from 3-8 ft away at higher volume- when you blast yourself in the face with this thing, like you do if you are sitting at a desk, it doesn't seem like the sound can spread out properly, and so you can hear some clipping and distortion - but step back and watch that disappear, and the speaker will easily fill the room with amazing depth and clarity. (For desk use, just turn it down a little!) All in all, the Esquire really is quite an impressive unit. Conference calls are a bonus, and the style, fit and finish is absolutely first class.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Got as Gift, Giving as Gift Simply, love it. Giving one to my dad for Father's Day. Tried to play with another h/k speaker - no luck. The two would not play together. Maybe they can, and I just don't know how it works; or, maybe h/k can make that happen in future designs. Great for on the go great sound.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Conference calls and home Concerts... I’ve used this speaker in multiple environments, so here are my comments based on a couple weeks of hands-on experience: I’ve used this speaker in multiple environments, so here are my comments based on a couple weeks of hands-on experience: -The range of sound is great. The high tones aren’t too piercing, and the bass is pretty decent. -Placed next to a wall, the sound will bounce and the bass gets a little nicer…but stand alone in the middle of the room, I’ve found the sound really nice too, bass included. -It has a great range of volume so it can be subtle in the office and a dance party at home. -The volume controls are from the device you’ve connected (I believe). -So far, I’ve tested the iPhone (5 and 6). If you use the buttons on the top of the speaker, they sync with the volume level on the connected iPhone (ie, the volume bar will move up/down with the +/- buttons on the speaker. -I haven’t been able to connect it to my iPad Air as of yet; it will not recognize it on Bluetooth. On my list to look into further. -Connecting is effortless via iPhone. -Multiple iPhones were able to easily connect and control the speaker with no setup, just a simple connect via Bluetooth in the device settings. -Read the instructions for the extras, perhaps. On my list to read further. -Battery life is great (so far). -Connected and playing music at low volume levels for 4 hours, only burned 1/5 of the power (ie, four clearly lit dots on the power indication on the side of the speaker, after four hours of fairly constant play). - Not “air-like” to carry, but incredibly portable. -Nice case comes with the speaker, and holds only the speaker. -While typically I would prefer a case that includes room for charging peripherals, this speaker has great battery life and therefore, don’t need to carry charging extras. -Conference calls with ease… -The main attraction for my use is the conference call capability (ie, built-in microphone and iPhone connectivity). While I yet to hear the output on the other end of a call from the speaker (on my list to look into further), all reports are that calls made via this speaker sound good on that end. -My only complaint is that the connect tone from the speaker is rather loud (like 1/2 of possible volume?)...is it based on last levels from previous device connected or maybe could be a lower volume by default? My two cents. Overall, thus far, I’m very happy with this purchase. Yay.

When connecting my esquire to the laptop, it can be barely heard. What should I do to hear music from my laptop on my esquire.

Asked by: JuanU
As long as the ESQUIRE has enough battery and switched on when connected to any non-Bluetooth device, it will work perfectly. Try adjusting the volume on the source to at least 75% and adjust the speaker volume accordingly. For example, turn the volume on the ESQUIRE up to at least 75% in order to get good results. This will likely solve the issue. If this doesn't help, please submit a case at www.harmankardon.com/contactus and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

hello, the Esquire not charged. the white led light keep blinking ( only the 1st led light blinking). the unit does not power on with the USB adapter connected also. done the reset. not working

Asked by: WWT7
What you are experiencing is not normal. Try using a different charging cable and try alternating where you are charging the ESQUIRE (i.e wall outlet, USB ports on laptops/computer) and let it charge for maximum of 5 hours. I noticed you are in Malaysia. If this doesn't help, please contact the store where you purchased it and they will be able to help, or at least guide you to the people that can further help.

How to pair Esquire Mini with more than one device? I paired with laptop immediately without issue. However, it is not visible to any other device, i.e.phone, desktop, AppleTV. Any suggestions?

Asked by: alaPAMa
The ESQUIRE MINI can only connect one device at a time. It cannot be paired to more than one device at a time.

hi, i have bought this speaker for few months and i have no problems at all. but suddenly, now my speaker couldn't charge until now. i did plug in the charger and when i plugin in the lamp is on but it won't turn on. anyone know what to do?thanks

Asked by: kartikaendang
Thank you for the inquiry. Please disconnect/unpair all source devices. Verify that there is no visible damage to the cable connections. Please allow the battery to completely discharge. Please recharge the battery using another cable at an alternate power source and test. If the issue is unresolved please perform a reset. If the issue persists please contact the dealer or retailer for return/exchange/service information. Best Regards. Make sure the Esquire is OFF. If it is ON, press and hold the On/Off button for about two seconds to place the unit in OFF mode. Press and hold the "Volume +" button for more than 5 seconds. You will not see any cue that the 5 seconds have elapsed, so you must time it, or keep it down longer to be sure. Now plug the USB charge cable into the unit -> the charging/battery LED closest to the charging plug will blink red 3 times, and then the 5 charging/battery level LEDs revert to show charging status. Release the "Volume +" button. Press and hold the ON/OFF button for two seconds or more to power on unit. Unit starts up in pairing mode, and the Esquire unit is now reset to factory mode

why is our new wireless esquire turns off after a few minutes of playing?

Asked by: razbazz
The ESQUIRE goes into standby after a few minutes of not receiving any audio signal from the source or it cannot detect audio signals from the source because the volume is too low for the speakers to detect any audio. You can prevent this from happening again by cranking the volume up to at least 80-90% on your device and control the volume on the ESQUIRE.

Is it possible to reset in case of full discharge? I had an issue with charging, and now the system is fully discharged and I can't charge it so I thought reset may help. Thanks

Asked by: MikeNG
You can definitely try and reset the ESQUIRE with discharged battery, perform the following steps: Preparation: Connect the power supply to main power, and have the charge cable micro-USB plug handy, since you must use it in a minute (do not connect charge cable to unit yet) *Make sure the Esquire is OFF. If it is ON, press and hold the On/Off button for about two seconds to place the unit in OFF mode. *Press and hold the "Volume +" button for more than 5 seconds. You will not see any cue that the 5 seconds have elapsed, so you must time it, or keep it down longer to be sure. *Now plug the USB charge cable into the unit -> the charging/battery LED closest to the charging plug will blink red 3 times, and then the 5 charging/battery level LEDs revert to show charging status. *Release the "Volume +" button. *Press and hold the ON/OFF button for two seconds or more to power on unit. *Unit starts up in pairing mode, and the Esquire unit is now reset to factory mode. If said procedure is unsuccessful, you can submit a case to http://ru.harmankardon.com/contact-overview-ru.html, they will be more than capable to assist you.

Try using a different charging cable and try alternating where you are charging the speakers (i.e wall outlet, USB ports on laptops/computers) and let it charge until the charging lights indicate full charge. If replacing the charger cable doesn't help and this is just recently purchased, please contact the dealer or retailer for replacements or exchanges.
