Rated 5 out of 5 by from The sound is just amazing!!! I heard this speaker when I visited my Dad. And I loved it so much I had to order one for myself. Sound is loud and clear . Good balance between highs and mids and the Bass is deep.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent lows & highs for it's size I got this speaker as a replacement for my Onyx Studio 2 which I returned because of it's flimsy legstands that tend to break overtime for which I'm sure several buyers have experienced. I'm glad that they came up with a redesigned sturdy legstands which is the one I'm reviewing now. Sound quality for all Onyx models are basically identical and all of them have Robust sound considering how small the drivers are. At fist glance you would think that it that the whole unit is the driver itself especially when you hear the bass output it makes. But you will surprise to find out when you remove the front speaker cover that it's only a speaker case housing 4 small drivers and two passive radiators. Not to mention the amplifier and function controls in it. It's amazing what great electronics and passive radiators can do to deliver full full bodied sound with outstanding clarity and power for such small speaker drivers. the only thing is you have to pay big time to own it. Buying it on black Friday is the way bto go.

Where I can download new (fresh) firmware for my HK Onyx ? How I can play music from Spotify via DLNA ?

Asked by: Andru
Hi Andru, There is no new firmware available for the HK Onyx which you can install yourself. If your Onyx is not working as intended, this needs to be investigated by a Service Center, where, if available, an update will be installed. You can also not play Spotify through DLNA. DLNA is a network service, which you run from a local server so you can stream your own files ( audio, video, pictures ) in your network to devices that support DLNA. You can stream Spotify directly from a mobile device via Bluetooth to your Onyx. If you require further information, please contact us on customer.support@harman.com

I have a Sony smart tv and I can not seem to get my speaker to pair with the tv. Any suggestions?

Asked by: Mrschmid
If your TV supports Bluetooth audio connection, then the ONYX would be able to connect to your TV. Press/hold the Bluetooth button, until you hear a sonar tone, on the ONYX to enable pairing mode. Scan for BT devices on your TV and you will find the ONYX then connect. You can also hook up the ONYX using a 3.5mm audio cable to your TV, as long as your TV has an analog audio output. It will usually be called Audio Output, Headphone, or Line Out.

Will the new HK Controller App allow me to link two Onyx speakers via Bluetooth? Thank you

Asked by: Nicko
No. The HK Controller Application will not do this, the app is designated for the HK OMNI HD audio system. The only model in the ONYX series of speakers is the ONYX STUDIO 3 and ONYX MINI that does have Wireless Dual Sound which allows us to do this.

When I turn my computer blue tooth on and click on the HKOnyx Studio 3 to switch the sound to my speaker it won't open.  I looked to see if I had an ap that controls this but can't find anything.  Help?

Asked by: cindy817
The ONYX STUDIO 3 does not require any specific drivers. It utilizes the standard Bluetooth Stereo Audio drivers available in most laptops. There are two different Bluetooth protocols, one for Headset Audio used for talking on the telephone, and the other for high quality stereo audio listening. Being that the ONYX STUDIO 3 is a speaker; your computer must connect to the ONYX STUDIO 3 using the Stereo Audio protocol. Your best bet is to go into your control panel and find the Bluetooth setup. This setup usually provides a setup wizard and will take you through the steps to install the drivers needed for Stereo Audio.
