Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound I have been using this device for only a matter of days. It is fantastic, great sound, brilliant build. I would recommend completely. The only problem is that the Bluetooth tends to be poor at very close range. (50cm) however this is no problem realy as further away is okay. (-:

My onyx studio 2 does not stay on after removing the plug, even after it's been plugged in all night. Does it matter if it is on or off when plugged in to charge?

Asked by: Barbara P
The ONYX STUDIO 3’s LED indicators are ON when charging, and turns off when fully-charged. It is possible that the speaker has an issue and is not taking a charge, thus shutting down when un-plugged. If this is the case, please submit a case at www.harmankardon.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to assist you.

I've had mine about 2years and it just stopped working the other day. Will Not Operate via Battery or while plugged in. Power Will not come on. Tried multiple outlets - any other tips to check?

Asked by: KPTOMORY
It seems like your ONYX STUDIO 3 has bad power supply or the connector is bad. Try using a different charging cable and a different power source. If this cannot be prevented, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/contact-support.html and our customer service team will be glad to assist you.

While charging the onyx s3, there is no indication showing that the unit is charging or is finally charged. How do you know how long to charge this?

Asked by: Planetantonio
The white light indicator on the power button would stay constantly lit when the ONYX STUDIO 3 reaches full charge. While the battery charge time for the ONYX STUDIO 3 from 0-100% is estimated at 5-hours. Please know that it is healthier for the speaker to receive small frequent charges whenever possible rather than 0-100% in one go.

Is it ok to leave the speaker on continuously all day, even if it's not playing anything.

Asked by: Nickkk
Yes, leaving the ONYX STUDIO 3 plugged in even if it’s not playing will not harm the battery nor the speaker itself.

Is stereo playback through 2 onyx studio 3 speakers possible?

Asked by: hughgotit
Using the ONYX STUDIO 3's Wireless Dual Sound feature would play two speakers off the same source but will remain as two stereo speakers playing at the same time rather than separate Right and Left channels.

Hello, when I use my OS 3 on battery, is there any difference in EQ compared to AC (e.g. lower bass), or is it just noticeable in loudness? Another Q: if I'm listening through Bluetooth. with 320kbs source, how much does quality drop due to compression?

Asked by: Bálint
Yes. The ONYX STUDIO 3 has a rated power of 4 x 15W (AC mode) and 4 x 7.5W (Battery mode). Streaming audio via Bluetooth requires additional compression, and as a general rule, the more processing the audio signal goes through, sonic quality gets sacrificed. It is best to use a wired connection whenever possible. While newer Bluetooth technology allows minimal loss of quality, a wired connection ensures uninterruptible connection that Bluetooth is susceptible to.

How do I connect my three speakers to play the same? And does all three have to play at the same volume?  Maybe an app to control that would be good.

Asked by: Markusbarrig
Unfortunately, the Wireless Dual Sound feature of the ONYX STUDIO 3 only allows connection of up to two speakers. Follow these steps in initiating the wireless dual sound feature: 1. Pair your device(i.e Phone, Laptop, Etc...) to your ONYX STUDIO 3. 2. Once the device is paired, switch the other speaker ON. 3. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the ONYX STUDIO 3 that is paired with your device for at least 7-10 seconds or until you see the bluetooth button blink initiating wireless dual pairing mode. 4. Go to the other speaker and perform step 3. 5. You will hear a notification sound if both speakers have been paired together.
