Onyx Studio 3 is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect sound for any music genre I mainly listen to jazz and heavy metal and oh boy does the OS3 deliver on the sound quality. You can hear every instrument clearly, every note, every chord. Such a fanboy for harman/kardon products from the date i bought this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable unit I use this for crosses on my BMW 840Ci M62 on the centre back seat streaming Spotify through my Sony compact X and the sound is awesome with all windows and sunroof open. Would be better if I could connect a 12 volt DC direct into unit. Also is it Ok to leave it on AC adapter continuously at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sounds great... but sizeable. The sound is impressive, though the speaker itself was a little larger than I was anticipating. Regardless of the footprint, this is an excellent sounding speaker and I'm pleased with my purchase (it was a great deal at the sale price).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound and durability Very loud and clear sound, amazing bass, easy to connect

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have speaker After compared both Bose & HK, finally decided to go with HK. Bass is perfect. Not too much, but not too crisp. Sound is obviously powerful. Clarity is okay, but if HK can make the acoustic clearer, nothing can beat it ! In addition that I love the design, I'm impressed that HK provides 1 adapter with so many cables for all types of outlet. I won't have to worry to look for new cables!

Why i cant connect onyx studio 3 to macbook ? i use MacOS 10.12.3....and i cant find onyx studio 3 when opening bluetooth on my mac, do you know why ? due to MacOS or anything else ? My iphone 7 plus connected easily although

Asked by: iKen1340
The ONYX STUDIO 3 can be connected to your MacBook Pro through bluetooth connection, make sure that you have the Bluetooth driver that supports A2DP audio codec. It can also be connected by running a wire from your MacBook Pro headphone port to the ONYX STUDIO 3’s auxiliary port. When trying to pair, make sure that the ONYX STUDIO 3 is on pairing mode. To do this, while the speaker is on, press the Bluetooth button and the light indicator should start blinking and an tone will be heard indicating that the unit is ready to be paired. Re-check on your MacBook and you should now be able to detect the ONYX STUDIO 3.

is it possible to link two onyx studio 3 speakers using the Aux input

Asked by: ffurulund
Yes, you can do this using an aux-splitter cable. Another way to connect the speakers is the Wireless Dual Sound feature of the ONYX STUDIO 3. Follow these steps in initiating the wireless dual sound feature: 1. Pair your device(i.e Phone, Laptop, Etc...) to your ONYX MINI 2. Once the device is paired, switch the other speaker ON. 3. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the ONYX MINI that is paired with your device for at least 7-10 seconds or until you see the bluetooth button blink initiating wireless dual pairing mode. 4. Go to the other speaker and perform step 3. 5. You will hear a notification sound if both speakers have been paired together.

I went to use my Onyx 3 unplugged for an extended period of time forntheb1st time and battery died after 1hr 20min of continual streaming w amazon music, which was very disappointing. Description says up to 5 hours - How do I maximize play time?

Asked by: Jenlor
Battery life would really depend on how the speaker is used, depending on music content (i.e Rap, R&b, rock, etc...) and volume level would certainly play a major role in the play time of the speaker. If the speaker is at 80-90% volume playing audio with a lot of BASS, battery/play time would be shortened compared to the speaker playing mellow/slow music at 40-50% volume. If the battery drains too fast, please submit a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to assist you.

Is there a way to turn on the speaker and connect to it via an app or otherwise through an iphone? Most comparable Bluetooth speakers have this function. Or do I have to manually turn on the speaker for it to be used?

Asked by: Johnny O
There is no way to turn the ONYX STUDIO 3 on via the app. The speaker must be turned on manually for it to be used.

I want to buy onyx studio , but i cant decide model 2 or model 3 , what is the diferenta between them?? Thanks

Asked by: Claudiu
The ONYX STUDIO 3 and ONYX STUDIO 2 have identical drivers and are both rated at 60W. The difference is, if the ONYX STUDIO 3 is running on battery, it will only output half of that rated wattage (half as loud) to save battery. You can only use the full 60W when running with the power cable plugged in. Secondly, the Onyx Studio 3 offers Wireless Dual Sound. This allows two Studio 3’s to wirelessly connect to each other, or to the Go+Play Mini and Onyx Mini, to play music out of them simultaneously.

Is this speaker have wired input using AUX cable?

Asked by: Aar_rv
Yes. The ONYX STUDIO 3 has a 3.5mm port labeled Aux at its back, next to the power port where an audio cable may be plugged in.

It is an aweson device! I am considering buying a second one. I see that it is possible to connect another ONYX 3 via bluethoot. when doing it speaker A & speaker B can be used as ONE stereo system (Left and Rigth) or they remain as two stereo spekers?

Asked by: josue
Using the ONYX STUDIO 3's Wireless Dual Sound feature would play two speakers off the same source but will remain as two stereo speakers playing at the same time rather than separate Right and Left channels.

I've just purchased this unit for my office and it's great. I just can't figure out how to stop it from interrupting the music when I get a phone call.  Even on silent phone calls come through and I need it not to do that

Asked by: Esp3
There are two ways to accomplish what you want to do. 1. You can go into your Bluetooth settings and select the ONYX STUDIO 3 settings and select ONLY the Audio option and deselect the Headset option. This will allow you to transmit audio from the phone without phone call interruption. 2. You can set your phone to do not disturb so that it won't ring at all.
