Rated 5 out of 5 by from Listened to them all I had the helpful associate at Best Buy connect every high end bluetooth speaker that was on display. My wife and I agreed that the Onyx Studio was the best sounding of them all. I've had it for 5 days and have connected to my android smart phone, wife's Kindle Fire, and our Dell Laptop. It's easy to link up and sounds awesome! Very happy with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Speaker This is the best sounding portable speaker on the market. I have demonstrated all of them and the Onyx is in a class of it's own.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound It is as good as advertised. Only complaint is it does not shut off automatically after 10 mns of no signal. Better base than other wireless speakers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mind Blowing Performance! I received the Onyx Studio for Christmas after expressing my interest for a portable Bluetooth audio speaker that really sounds great ie. (Bose). I unpacked it and was immediately taken aback by the beauty and design. After giving it a quick charge I connected my phone (HTC One) and played the first track (Pittbull's Fireball) and was completely blown away! Fully cranked she delivered pure clean sound with incredible bass, all thea way down to 60Hz! I have shown it to all my friends and family and they just can't believe that it's not powered (Plugged in) . If you are looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker look no more, this speaker has it all and then some! Bose has a long way to go to catch the Onyx Studio...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best speaker we've ever owned! We received this portable speaker as a gift for Christmas. The sound is extremely incredible! We have tested tons of different songs for sound quality. The wireless battery power is fantastic. In our small home, it provides great sound coverage everywhere. And it pairs very easily with my phone! I'm still figuring out how to pair it with my computer, but we have loved every aspect of this great speaker!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWSOME SOUND!!!!! I was looking at the H/K and the Bose. I picked the H/K because I was able to connect my phone via blue tooth in the store so I could hear my music in the store and the sound was awesome. I don't care for the bottled music on the Bose demo units, and the price of the H/K was 149.99, half the cost of the Bose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound I, like Caleb searched and listened to many portables. From small to bigger, $80-$400. I agree with much of what Caleb had to say in his critique. I couldn't find the portable speaker that had the rich sound I was looking for. I agree the Bose and this Onyx were the only 2 options. I didn't bring both home. I bought mine at Bestbuy for $185. I hooked my phone up to both systems and hands down the Onyx took out the Bose. Especially the volume. Bar none, can any other speaker I heard top this. At high volume the music sounded fantastic, no matter type of music I played. My one issue is that it should have an Aux output. I would have like to have the ability to connect to a TV, anything that doesn't have bluetooth connectivity. Other than that, this is best sounding portable speaker I have heard under $400. Yes, you can find now under $200. It is very classy well designed speaker that you put in any environment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding performance After multiple trips to several stores to demo every portable speaker in the $100-$300 range, the HK Onyx Studio and the Bose Soundlink III were the clear leaders in terms of sound performance and build quality. So I purchased both and brought them home for a side-by-side test. Here's a summary of my observations (scored on 10 point scale): Sound Quality: HK: 10 Bose: 8 Rationale: The HK sounds better than any other portable speaker I have listened to, by a substantial margin. The Bose doesn't sound bad, but its considerably smaller size significantly limits its ability to reproduce low frequency sound (bass). The HK will also play noticeably louder than the Bose. Battery Performance: HK: 9 Bose: 9 Rationale: Both provided hours of operation at surprisingly loud listening levels. Price: HK: 6-10* Bose: 8 Rationale: Both are relatively expensive, but the HK's MSRP is artificially high ($400). Because HK allows "sale" pricing, you can get it much cheaper than MSRP (unlike the Bose, where price is strictly controlled). If you can get the HK for $300 or less, then it's absolutely worth the price. I was fortunate enough to get mine on sale for around $200, which makes the price a 10+! Portability: HK: 7 Bose: 10 Rationale: This is the strong-suit of the Bose. It is smaller, lighter, and has a shape more conducive to traveling. While the HK is also very portable, it's more awkward to carry and/or stow, and it seems more fragile (no data to prove this, just a hunch). Features: HK: 8 Bose: 10 Rationale: The Bose has a couple more features than the HK, such as direct connect. I didn't need them, but some might find them very useful. Bottom Line: Since sound quality was my highest priority and I have no plans to travel with the speaker (other than around the house & yard), the HK was the clear winner for me. Its sound quality is in a class of its own, battery life is very good, and connectivity is quick & easy. I've used it daily for about two months and continue to be impressed with its performance. If portability is your highest priority, then I would recommend the Bose Soundlink II or III. Both are much easier to carry/pack for travel and are more ruggedly designed for the occasional impact.
