Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good looks, sound, and price. I bought these speakers about a year ago. These speakers for a room can get very loud. Beautiful design and also amazing sound for the price. Honestly, way better than any desktop speakers for the price.

Hi. I have version II of these speakers and have recently noticed a loud humming noise when using them. Some forums suggest there is wire contention with power sockets etc, but nothing has changed with my setup. No hum before and now hum. Kindly advise?

Asked by: shaz01
Hi. It is not easy to say why you have hum, but suspicion can be directed towards the power supply or aging of electrolytic capacitors inside the bass module. The II version is now pretty old, introduced in 2008, and aging happens. If you have constant hum no matter what volume you select on the stick touch-pads, this could be caused by one of the above reasons. If all hum disappears the instant you remove the signal cable from the input socket, chances are that the hum is picked up from an outside source, as induced signal. You can move it around somewhat, move other electronic devices away, but apart from that, it would be best to have a qualified technician look into the problem.

Directions says to turn on two power buttons but I only see 1 button. Also, the satellite button doesn't seem to do anything. I have sound coming from all 3 sources (sub + 2 satellites) but the +/- buttons on the satellite don't seem to do anything..

Asked by: sszs
Sorry to hear about this. There's only 1 power button, located at the back of the subwoofer. This is how you set up the SOUNDSTICKS III. Connect the satellite speakers to the subwoofer. 1. Connect the input cable from the sub to your devices headphone output or speaker output. 2. Connect the power supply from the SoundSticks III to the wall outlet. 3. Turn the unit on by pressing the button on the back of the subwoofer. Unit is on when LED is lit. Use the subwoofer volume knob/power button to balance the subwoofer’s volume with that of the satellites. Adjust volume level by touching + or – button. Touching both the + and – buttons mutes the audio. When muted, touching either button unmutes the audio.

Hello, can I connect SoundSticks III directly to both a turntable and a CD player that have pre-amps or do I need to buy a stereo amplifier?

Asked by: gicci
Hi Thank you for your question. Soundssticks III is a computer speaker system, which is meant to be connected to a headphone output from it's source, so if your turntable or CD-player has a headphone output, then you can connect soundssticks III to it. if you have further questions, please feel welcome to contact customer support.

is it necessary to download software updates if speakers stop working with a Mac computer?

Asked by: Connie
There are no known compatibility issues reported between the SOUNDSTICKS III and the new Mac OS. Clear the Bluetooth Cache of your Mac and reconnect your speaker. It is also possible that when your Mac was updated, it did not include A2DP – this is the standard Bluetooth driver to stream audio wirelessly. If you are still experiencing issues, please submit a case at harmankardon.com/contactus and our Customer Service Team will be glad to assist you.
