Discrete Logic 7® Technology Delivers Stunning Surround Sound
The multi-channel DSP main amplifier in the G-Class brings 450 watts to the table, guaranteeing a refined and dynamic sound experience. The G-Class is also equipped with 12 premium sound transducers that have been optimally integrated into the vehicle interior. Logic 7 technology, which delivers high-fidelity surround sound pleasure from stereo and 5.1 recordings at every seat. In the reproduction of 5.1 surround sound recordings without discrete Logic 7 technology, there would be only one ‘sweet spot’ in the vehicle, i.e. one single place with the optimum sound, which would be located exactly where nobody would care to sit – in the area around the center console. Thanks to discrete Logic 7 technology, surround information is distributed with the quality of the original recording via the SUV’s speakers to create a ‘sweet spot’ for every passenger in every seat.
The dashboard houses a robust 80 mm center speaker with a glass-fiber membrane that can withstand extensive fluctuations in temperature and humidity, and that is capable of handling all manner of demanding off-road conditions. Two 43 mm silk dome tweeters in the doors at the base of the exterior mirrors deliver a spatial sound and distinct positioning of instruments and voices. Four 165 mm glass-fiber, midrange speakers in the four doors define the midrange and bass tones, supported by a 165 mm ALumaprene double voice-coil subwoofer beneath the rear bench for clean bass beats. 43 mm silk dome tweeters are installed in the rear doors for the benefit of rear-seat passengers. Two 80 mm ALumaprene surround sound speakers with robust, but extremely precise polymer membranes are positioned at the back in the D-pillars for optimum spatial sound, transmitting effectively over cargo in the luggage compartment.
The Harman Kardon high-performance DSP amplifier with 450 watts of total output is located beneath the driver’s seat and guarantees a compelling sound experience for individualists – be it on shopping trips or adventurous journeys.
