1. How do I connect my AVR 1700 to the network?
Make sure you connect a CAT 5/6 cable directly to the network port on the back of the AVR 1700. The other end will connect into your router/modem. It will need to be a wired connection from the AVR to the router.
2. I no longer get audio through HDMI
Check to make sure all connections are secure and tight. Check the length of the HDMI cable. Cable lengths over 10 feet may introduce problems. Make sure you are not using and adapters or splitter boxes (DVI to HDMI, etc.) Check your device to make sure the audio output settings are set for HDMI
3. I cannot connect to my home network.
Make sure you connect a CAT 5/6 cable directly to the network port on the back of the AVR 1700. The other end will connect into your router/modem. It will need to be a wired connection from the AVR to the router. The computer will also need to be on the same network. Navigate to your OSD menu by pressing the OSD button on your remote. Once you are in the Master Menu, navigate to Network. Set the IP Configuration to Auto and scroll down and save your settings. Exit the OSD menu. Press the network button on the remote to change to your home network source.
4. What is the best surround mode to use?
Surround modes are a matter of preference. Generally, you can leave it on auto and it will detect the best surround mode for your source. You can also cycle through the surround mode settings and see which suits your listening environment best.
5. Remote app does not recognize AVR.
Make sure you download the latest version of the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play (for Android devices). Make sure you device is connected to the same wireless network as the AVR 1700 and not on 3G/LTE.
6. My unit does not power on.
Make sure the main power switch is on. It is located on the back of the unit. If you are able to see the standby light on the front (amber) and it will not turn on, try a processor reset. Press and hold down the SURR mode button on the front panel until it says RESET.
7. My Airplay is not working.

9. The AVR 1700 does not detect my iPod/iPhone.
