The BDS 6802’s five amplifiers, rated at 65 watts per channel, power the left, right, center and two surround loudspeakers, all of which feature midrange transducers and high-frequency dome tweeters. Video-shielded construction ensures that you can place the center-channel and satellite speakers near your TV without causing magnetic interference.

Unlike conventional, front-firing subwoofers, the BDS 6802’s 200-watt, 8-inch (200-millimeter) powered subwoofer fires downward, interacting with the floor for enhanced bass response. Volume, phase and bass-boost controls make it easy to synchronize bass output with the satellites and then fine-tune the system’s performance to match your room acoustics and personal preferences.

The BDS 6802 system is an all-in-one entertainment solution featuring five matching loudspeakers and a downward-firing, 200-watt powered subwoofer. It contains everything you need for great video and surround sound from virtually any movie or music source, combining the performance of separate components with the ease of use of a single, fully integrated home theater audio system.

The BDS 6802 streams audio from virtually any portable device. For computers with iTunes, Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices – stream your entertainment using the system’s built-in AirPlay technology. BDS 6802’s integrated Bluetooth® technology with HARMAN TrueStream and MultiConnect enables connectivity to almost any tablet, smartphone or laptop. With MultiConnect, there’s no need to disconnect one device between streaming from a second. A front-facing USB port invites you to connect devices directly without the need of an external adapter or a wireless connection. The BDS 6802 is also compliant with DLNA 1.5 for music, photos and video, providing multiple options for delivering content over your home network.

Connecting your NFC-enabled Android™ and Windows® devices to BDS 6802 with Bluetooth is easy and fast. BDS 6802 features an NFC sensor which, with Bluetooth® technology-enabled, allows immediate pairing by simply touching your device to the BDS.

Place your BDS 6802 anywhere. Its Wi-Fi networking capability connects you to your home network without the need for a wired network connection. With it, gain wireless access to streaming services, Apple AirPlay, DLNA, receiver updates, and additional online BD-Live™ content for your Blu-ray Disc™ media.

Full network connections provide quick access to your favorite online content from, Pandora®, YouTube™, Picasa, Accuweather™, and others (where available).

i have a harman kardon omni 10. will i be able to control the BDS6802 like the omni 10 speaker? with the harman kardon app? due to its bluetooth capabilities.

Asked by: brad3583
Unfortunately, No. The HK Controller App is specifically tailored for the OMNI series speakers and not unless you have connected the BDS6802 to an ADAPT, you won't be able to manage your BDS6802 via the HK Controller App. The App which works with your BDS6802 would be the HK Remote App.

Do all speakers even rear speakers connect to main receiver wirelessly ? is any connecting cable required?

Asked by: Alit
All speakers must be connected to the receiver using speaker cable. None of the speaker connections are wireless. The only wireless capability on the BDS is the ability to connect a source like a smart phone to the BDS via Bluetooth, Airplay or DLNA.

How can I prevent the system from automatically switching to Bluetooth although radio is playing?

Asked by: Vincent BS
Once you have paired a device to the BDS, if your Bluetooth is ON, on that device and you begin playing music, the BDS will automatically switch over and begin playing the Bluetooth signal. If you don't want your device to play the audio over Bluetooth to the BDS, you must either turn the Bluetooth off on your device, or connect it to a different Bluetooth receiver.

How is it different to BDS 880 system

Asked by: Janardhan
Both the BDS880 and BDS6802 systems use the BDS580 receiver. The only difference is in the speaker system. The BDS880 uses the HKTS65 speaker system, while the BDS6802 uses the smaller HKTS2 MKII speaker system.

How are the speakers and subwoofer connected to the receiver? Bare wire or what?

Asked by: DJm1xx
The subwoofer connects using a standard analog RCA line level cable. The speakers connect using standard speaker wire. The best, most permanent connection would be to use the bare wire. But you can also use spade lugs, or pins. It is your choice.
