Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound, clunky controls. I've had Harman Kardon in my last few cars and I've been really happy with their sound. So when it came time to choose a sound bar, HK was an obvious choice. The SB 26 has great sound in a sleek and modern package. I really appreciate its minimalist design in comparison to the other sound bars out there. It has great full range sound, however, it could use some better mid-range sound. I'll have to adjust the settings — if that's possible. What kills me is the volume control. There is this annoyingly wide gap when you turn the volume down. Imagine not being able to go from 3 to 1; it just goes from 3 to mute. This would have been a deal breaker for me if I knew about it before hand. Hopefully, HK will make things right and provide a firmware update for this obvious flaw. Otherwise, I can't recommend this product as the volume function is a basic feature that should just work.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Remote control did not work nor on screen display My remote control would barely communicate with my system and after a new battery stopped working completely. My soundbar would not pair up with my tv remote despite carefully following the directions I found on line. There is NO manual included with the product, which is frustrating. My sound bar settings do NOT display on the TV despite being hooked up via the ARC HDMI port. The product simply does not work. To synch to Bluetooth you have to manually press the Bluetooth button on the soundbar vs having that on the remote. My sound bar will be mounted on the wall above a basement stairway and so can't be manually reached. When testing the system by playing music via Bluetooth, the sound output is very good/exceptional but I can't get my tv sound to come out without the remote control to switch sound bar input signal/port.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good sound, but awful remote & poor functionality I have had this soundbar for several months now and I will say that the sound is really nice (although it is lacking in the mid range). If I were just rating the sound, I would give it probably 4.5 stars; however, I'm giving it 3 stars because of poor functionality. They ship a remote with this soundbar, but I may as well not have one because the range on it is about 5 feet. Originally, I thought it was because the sensor may just not be able to see the remote or that the battery might be dead. I replaced the battery and even attached the IR repeater that came with it (thinking that might improve things), but to no avail. The volume control is not well thought out. There is no visual cue when you increased the volume (without attaching it to the HDMI input and then having to switch to that channel...which is not what you want to do every time you raise/lower the volume). Because I can't rely on the remote, I have to walk up to the bar and manually increase/decrease it. I have a buddy that just bought a Sony soundbar for $400 and it sounds good and the functionality is incredible (very user friendly). We didn't have any issues with the remote, it actually had a manual that came with it, and it was really easy to set up. When we increased the volume, there was a visual cue (like there is on most tv's where the light blinks when you adjust the volume). It's frustrating not having a manual (not sure why they don't allow you access)...I don't necessarily have to have the manual in paper form. I was ok with just looking at the manual online, but every time I try to access the PDF, it won't open up (not sure if the link is bad or what?). Again, the sound is nice, but for the price, you could certainly get something else. I've always liked Harman/Kardon (JBL, Lexicon, etc) so it's disappointing having to write this, but I hate to see someone spend so much money and get such poor functionality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from cannot recommend I bought this unit about 10 months ago. the sound quality is great. in every other way this system is simply no good. it starts with the flimsy remote. this remote feels insignificant in your hand. like something you'd toss out with the packaging after setup. the ease at which HK will replace it is a testament to both there level of support (not too bad) and the valueless nature of this device (pathetic.) Next is the lack of usability once the remote battery dies or the cheap thing finally breaks (which is only a matter of time.) Sure you can still turn it on/off and work the volume without the remote. But, and this is vital to understand, YOU CAN NOT CHANGE YOUR SOURCE. If you take nothing else from this review, please take this point seriously. Right now, I am staring at a flashing Bluetooth indicator when I don't want to use Bluetooth. I want to use optical, or HDMI. My remote is out of commission. How do I switch to optical/HDMI? Easy: I DON'T. I get to play Fortza with audio coming from the bassless speakers built into my TV set, while the SB 26 sits pretty like a 600 dollar prop. Finally, it was recommended by support that I install the Harmon Kardon iPhone app. A fine gesture... if I owned an iPhone. Please note that my rating are based heavily on the usability of the unit. the remote is not especially comfortable, and feels cheap, and when it breaks, you're doomed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Packs a punch, great sound bar I bought this sound bar to compliment my 4K TV and I have not been disappointed one bit. This bar packs a punch and gives great sound quality even at it's highest levels. The sub woofer gives the added base and punch that every home theater needs, I highly advise others to consider this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sound Bar and Sub EXCELLENT! Control disappointing First off, the SOUND of this product is definitely awesome. This is the perfect product for a condo/apartment where you want great sound but don't have a ton of space. The bluetooth feature is awesome. My wife and I connect our phones/tablets with ease. My rating is based on the control aspect of the product. Just the other night the remote would not work at all (might be the battery.) We could NOT switch the system to Optical in because the only way to do that is on the remote control. So we couldn't use our $600 system to watch a movie. The remote control is worthless. It only works when it wants to and you have limited control of the system. I work in the music industry and need to listen to bands. There's no way to adjust levels. What you see is what you get. For $600.00 I think there should be a much better way to control the sound if you want to. Also, the cheap and dysfunctional remote needs to be thought out better. An app for your phone/tablet to control the sound bar would be more than enough. Again, my 3 star review is not based on the sound quality of the bar, but because the remote control and ability to adjust sound are abysmal at best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy. Cant use without the remote. My battery died on the remote and I hit the Bluetooth pairing button by accident on the bar. Now I cant change the input back to the tv anymore. Soundbar is useless right now. Volume is to sensitive. the level between zero and one is to much of a gap. I highly do not recommend this product. After an hour wait with tech support they ha no answer for me and gave up within mins. Im pretty good with troubleshooting, but no success with this product. Also not enough room to hook up cables properly. The hdmi cable keeps pushing/rolling the sound bar off the shelf. Last Harman Kardon product I ever buy.
