Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW !!! Great features & bass.Truly authentic man! As I am listening, my audio sounds exactly from New Age to Dubstep, it sounds exactly how its suppose to sound - I was listening to my Bose and it did not do anything, I stepped it up with my Bass when I put on my Dubstep, it really made me feel like there. I am in heaven with these. I tell people to put an extra $100 and they will get the banging sound for $300 while the others are like in the $500 and it doesn't sound anything close to it. Try them out - I know I did!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended, but with a few warnings If you're a sound purist, your home will already be equipped with a very expensive and super-duper quality audio/video system, these speakers won't be purchased to replace such systems. However, if you're looking to equip another room, your office (provided you're working alone in that office), or your gym downstairs, or bring these bad boys to a friend's house for a party, they surely deliver what they promise. they are not quite the portable size, but they're easy to carry, honestly, even the carrying box is of great quality, and easy to carry with the provided handle. Music: high fidelity, power, high quality bass, but a bit of distortion on the trebles with my iPhone6, which I use with the EQ treble reducer settings; then it's distortion-free even with the volume at high or very high. Works great also to watch movies with my laptop, using bluetooth connection. The "on/off" beep is indeed a bit annoying, but from there to not recommend the speakers while giving a 4-star rating, yeah... some people are weird. I think it's still an awesome pair of reduced-size speakers. As compared to Logitech and JBL portable speakers (I own all of the above), these HK deliver more quality and much better sound, but they need to be powered by an outlet and not battery-operated. They remember the last used settings and they turn ON automatically when the last-used source is turned on (example, your laptop, provided the bluetooth on the laptop is ON). I like this feature a lot because you don't need to waste a "long" time to pair the speakers with the source. Switching from source to source is also fast (<4sec). Overall excellent rating, let's just hope they will last (had them for only a few weeks now).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Design and Impressive Sound I purchased the Nova's a few weeks ago after returning my Bose Companion 20's and have no regrets. I hardly ever write product reviews but felt compelled to share my positive experience thus far. I'm not a self-proclaimed audiophile but I'm an orchestral musician and can appreciate the clarity and quality of the sound range on these speakers. I'll probably only ever use these at 50% capacity and the speakers retain their quality even at a really low volume. I have a small work space in a small apartment so I didn't want a dedicated subwoofer. I like the bass boost functionality because most of the time I don't want the extra bass. The mids and highs are strong without it and the boost gives a decent kick on the rare occasion that I turn it on. Probably the best part is the design. Nothing in this price range comes close to how slick these look. The touch interface is also ergonomic and easy to use. The support for NFC, Bluetooth, and optical audio output seems rare for a two speaker system in this price range, meaning that these speakers will hold their value for a long time. I can sync my phone to these with NFC so there's no need to deal with manual Bluetooth pairing. You can also have a wired connection if you're looking to retain the highest sound quality - though it's hard to tell the difference most of the time. I'm also looking forward to trying these out on my TV (they're easy to reinstall with other configurations). All in all. The sound is amazing, but there are certainly other speakers in the price range that rival the sound quality. Get these for the design, functionality, and interface where there are no comparables.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing speakers Just got these and connected them to my TV via toslink. Also using them with nfc for quicker control of my music using my xperia z1 and HK application.  Amazing sound and fidelity. I would recommend this to everyone. Only downside is the relatively big size which doesn't really make them portable, but I guess you could get some BT JBL speaker for that.  Build quality is great and the touch control is something that will impress anybody with it's response and ingenuity.  Great job HK!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from don't buy until they fix the beeping great looking, good sound - sent back due to the beeping other reviewers have described. The speakers also seem to have a mind of their own, turning itself on at random times even when the two computers in my house were turned off. Maybe I set something up wrong, but I got the impression anytime anyone within a certain radius would make the speakers turn on if they had bluetooth enabled (I live in a dense area with lots of condos above, below, and beside). Whatever it was it was insufferable. I would have to unplug the speakers so as to not be woken up at night by the beeping.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice sound, annoying beeps on connection I am satisfied with the sound and the design, but everytime the speakers turns on or off (because of a device connected/disconnected via bluetooth) the speakers gives a loud beep. That's very annoyingwhen using the speakers in your living room, and using several bluetooth devices.

Yes, you can connect the NOVA to your computer via the AUX cable and use it that way without the Bluetooth.

How do I get the second speaker connected? Why do you not have any product manual whatsoever ( and please do not quote the so called quick start guide which is just a stupid picture of the procuct)?

Asked by: Dallas
There is a supplied wire that must be connected between the left and right wire. This is the only way for the second speaker to work.

My Nova speakers just stopped working yesterday. I was watching a movie and suddenly there were some extra sounds and then they stopped working, the only thing that's lit up now is the power button and it's yellow. The choose input button is no longer lit

Hi there, I have this speaker and whenever listening to music while connected to Bluetooth to my macbook, it sputters and skips.  Is there something I can do to fix this?

Asked by: Jennifer
There are a few things to check/try. 1. First, try forgetting the NOVA in your macbook. The shut down the macbook, completely (not a reboot). Then boot it back up. when it is completely done booting back up, shut it down one more time. This is very important because it now means that the macbook has gone through an entire on/off cycle without ever being connected to the NOVA. Now boot it back up one more time. When it is done booting, try pairing with the NOVA. This will likely fix your problem. 2. If 1 didn't fix your problem, please try connecting to the NOVA, via Bluetooth, with other devices. If the other devices play fine, you will need to contact Apple for a resolution. On the other hand, if the other devices also give the same problem, please submit a case at http://www.harmankardon.com/contactus. They will gladly assist you. Example: Whenever I use MediaMonkey and my phone screen is off, it skips from time to time. This never happens with any other apps. Clearly, in my case, the problem is a glitch in MediaMonkey.

I have HK Nova i need to extend 50 cm the cable between 2 speakers. Is it possible or not how I can do this?

Asked by: Majid
This is not possible. This speaker is designed to be used in a close proximity environment, with a computer or small TV screen. The general rule for stereo listening is, your speakers should be as far apart from each other as you are from your monitor screen. So, if you are only 3 or 4 feet from your computer or TV, your speakers should only be 3 or 4 feet apart. This is largely why the cable between the two speakers is as short as it is. The speakers sound GREAT when they are close together in a close environment. Spreading them out too far will drastically reduce the sonic quality of the system.

Hi, i connected the Nova to my tv. how can i adjust the volume without having to walk to the speaker? br Mark

Asked by: markv
Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. The tv remote is only cable of adjusting the tv speaker volume. Any audio out to an external device will require a remote. The Nova does not include a remote device. There maybe a universal remote or app available for program to the Nova. Best Regards.
