First of all, sorry my poor english. My 1510S avr does not working with my 16gb and 32 gb pendrives. What is the solution?

Asked by: jthel
The USB port on the AVR 1510S can be used to play MP3 and WMA audio files from a USB device inserted into the port. Insert the connector or device into the USB port oriented so it fits all the way into the port. You may insert or remove the connector or device at any time – there is no installation or ejection procedure. Press the USB button on your remote control and you should be able to use these files and play them accordingly. If this did not fix your problem, we would like to work with you directly. I see you are located in Hungary. Please submit a case request at https://eu.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

My avr 1510s can't turn on . The power light in the flashlight is blinking. I kept the power button to turn on but it did not work. Can you tell me why?

Asked by: Quang Vu
There are five possible reasons for is happening to your receiver. 1. There is a problem internally with the receiver. 2. There is a problem with one or more of your speakers. 3. There is a problem with one or more of your speaker wires. 4. There is a problem with the speaker wiring done on your system. 5. The unit is overheating. No ventilation. First, check the wiring at every speaker terminal at the back of your receiver and at the back of your speakers. A single strand of speaker wire crossing from one terminal to another would be enough to cause the receiver to do this If you do not find any problems with any of the wiring, you should disconnect all speakers from your receiver. If the receiver continues to show the power light blinking, the problem is in the receiver. I see that you are in Vietnam. You may reach our APAC support at support.apac@harman.com. Our Customer Service team will be more than happy to assist you. However, if it turns on, the problem is elsewhere. Begin reconnecting one speaker at a time. Eventually you will connect a speaker that will cause the receiver to shut down. At this point you have found your culprit. On the other hand, it may just be overheating. You must have at least 2 - 3 inches of space between the top of the unit and any shelf or component above the unit. The unit should not be inside a sealed compartment when being used. The unit must be able to breath. There are very powerful amps in these receivers. If they run too hot, they will shut down. An external fan can help this.

My question is this: How do I "by-pass the signal coming from a 4K source to a 4K capable TV"? Both my Apple TV (source) and Sony 4k TV (destination) see 1080p from the AVR1510s and I don't see an option for bypass.

Asked by: BRYAND
You can send any 4k video signal into the HDMI inputs of your AVR, and it will be sent to your TV screen from the HDMI output, either in 4k or 1080p. Sometimes it may be necessary to switch off the TV set, then switch it on again, to activate a new "handshake" between the devices, in order to open for the 4k signal, if normal HD 1080p signal was the last signal used. Please note that not all 4k signals can be viewed. Many streamed videos from YouTube will work, as will any 4k material that you have recorded yourself, and many TV boxes will work also. However, HDCP 2.2 protected material will not be shown in 4k, but will be converted to full HD 1080p signals, because these AVRs do not support HDCP 2.2 digital copy protection. HDR is not supported.

How can I get my Apple 4k tv to work through the receiver outputting a 4k image and not a 1080p image only?

Asked by: Jhediger
The AVR1510S only does HDCP 1.4. That's why it only provides 4K @ 30Hz and 1080p content. The AVR 1510S does not support HDCP 2.2 for 4K @ 60Hz and 2160p content. The AVR1510S has the capability to by-pass the signal coming from a 4K source to a 4K capable TV. As an alternative, run it through a HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI switcher.

How do you utilize the 4k passthough? Also where do I find the software updates?!

Asked by: BRYAND
The AVR 1510S uses HDMI 1.4 so it does not support HDCP 2.2 for 4K @ 60Hz and 2160p content. The AVR 1510S has the capability to by-pass the signal coming from a 4K source to a 4K capable TV. As an alternative, run it through a HDCP 2.2 compliant HDMI switcher. You may find the software updates for all our H/K products on https://www.harmankardon.com/software.html
