Wirelessly stream audio to any entertainment system.

Sometimes you want your favorite music to fill the room, not just your headphones. And if your home entertainment system already has Bluetooth® capability, you can wirelessly stream audio from a portable device (for instance, your smartphone or tablet). But what if your system isn’t equipped with Bluetooth technology? Not a problem. The Harman Kardon® BTA 10 external Bluetooth adapter connects directly to your entertainment system and enables you to stream audio wirelessly into the system from any Bluetooth-equipped portable device. The BTA 10’s HARMAN TrueStream™ technology means that its wireless audio connection to your entertainment system will be the highest quality possible – no matter what source device is supplying the audio. For your convenience, the BTA 10 has an LED indicator light that blinks as it searches for your Bluetooth-equipped device and stays steadily lit when it’s paired up successfully. The BTA 10 even comes with cables so that you can hook it up to your entertainment system. From home systems to portable speakers to speaker docks, the BTA 10 Bluetooth adapter adds wireless streaming capability to any audio system with a stereo 3.5mm aux input or stereo RCA inputs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from wonderful unit Quality of sound is pretty good. Even though the set up was straight forward, it would help to have a few line of instructions in the manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, Simple, turns anythng to Bluetooth device I've personally purchased twenty or more of the BTA-10's over time.. at least ten are active around the house and in my (older) cars. Family have the rest.. and love them too. BTA-10 is simple, small and does just what it's supposed to do.. bring older tech devices into the Bluetooth world. My only gripe, and it's in NO way a game changer... to date we cant change the SSID broadcast name.. it's always BTA-10.. so when you have more than one in the same vicinity it might be a bit confusing which to connect to. Most modern BT devices allow re-naming the BTA-10 their connecting to.. i.e. Kitchen, Den, Car1, etc.. but the SSID cant change .. yet :) GREAT DEVICE..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very simple to hook-up & operate I am very happy with this product: simple to use and easy no reading through endless instructions. You simply hook-up power & input, go on your Bluetooth phone and its' there! No guessing...

Can I attach this device to my stereo receiver and then pair bluetooth speakers to it so I can play the stereo in another room?

Asked by: soccermom
Yes you can. You can use the Audio out from the BTA 10 and connect it to your receiver using the Aux cable so your receiver can play the music from the BTA 10.

I was using the HK BTA 10 with a Bose sound dock. It quit working. The computer (Windows 7) appears to see the device fine, though I did uninstall and re-install the device just to be sure. It works from my cellphone.

Asked by: MattL
For the record, I had to remove all the BT stuff from the Device Manager, including an entry for "Other Devices->Bluetooth Peripheral Device", then reinstall drivers using a utility I found for my laptop on the Lenovo site. That may have been overkill, but it worked. I tried just removing the Device from Devices and Printers and re-installting, but that was not enough. You may be having a similar problem if you see the following: 1. As mentioned earlier, it works with other devices. 2. If you go to the entry for the HK BTA 10 in Devices and Printers, open it, click on "Listen to Music" and nothing happens (that is, not bluetooth connection messages).

can the bta 10 be connected to my old avr 235 harmon kadon to enable bluetooth connection?

Asked by: Martinj
Yes, The BTA-10 is compatible with the AVR 235. Just use the 3.5mm mini stereo to RCA cable that came with the BTA-10. Connect the 3.5mm jack to the BTA-10 then the RCA jack to the L/R analog IN port on the back of your AVR.

I own a BTA10 for about 4 years. it was working perefectly until last year when it has started to cause problems connecting to my phone/laptop. I have to reset it many times until it connects... sometimes even the resetting doesn't work. what to do?

Asked by: Idan
Please try going into your device and forgetting the BTA10. Then shut the phone down, completely OFF. Then boot the phone back up and completely shut it down a second time. This will allow the phone to go through an entire on/off cycle without ever seeing the BTA10, removing any remnants of the BTA10 connection. Now boot the phone up one more time and pair it with the BTA10 again. This should fix your issue. If it doesn't, please submit a case at www.harmankardon.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

Hi I dont get it work on Win 7 ... windows says there is no driver?

Asked by: Rooo
The BTA 10 is an external Bluetooth adapter that is meant to connect directly to your entertainment system such as receivers (not computers) and enables you to stream audio wirelessly into the system from any from any Bluetooth-equipped audio source such as a mobile phone. If you want to stream from a computer, it must support Bluetooth. Please consult your computer documentation for help with that.

Is the BTA-10 compatible with iPod Touch, I believe 5 & 6th generation

Asked by: A PAZ
Unfortunately it will not work this way. The BTA10 is a Bluetooth receiver, not a transmitter. For example, if you wanted to Bluetooth your phone to your home stereo system that currently does not support Bluetooth, connecting the BTA10 would allow you to transmit the information from your phone to your BTA10, where the sound would then play into the stereo receiver. But it cannot act as a transmitter, to send audio from the BTA10 wirelessly to a BT speaker.
