HK 3700 is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Amplifier, great value for money This is a superb amplifier, goes extremely load with no distortion paired with my kef Q350 bookshelf speakers. I like the USB port from which I'm able to play music from my apple device and the built in DAC is pretty good. My only complaint is that the DAC does not seem to support gapless playback. Overall great value for money with features found only in higher priced amps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very good fm reciver I was looking for a stereo only receiver for my bedroom. I am very pleased with the over all performance of the 3700. I'm in a fringe area for most FM stations and use a outside 4 element beam. The reception beats my larger multi channel receiver hands down with dead quiet signals. The sound from my Polk bookshelf speakers and subwoofer are very pleasing. I bought it while it was on sale, so it was a really good buy

Does this receiver have a direct digital input/output jack, such as a Toslink?

Asked by: Dave59
Unfortunately the HK 3700 does not have optical nor coaxial inputs. It only uses analog cables for connection.

The tone (bass/treble) controls seem very limited in range. My old 385i (recently retired due to failed capacitors) had much more adjustability with the analog controls and even had the Loudness button. Why are the new receivers limited?

The HK 3700 remote will not control the hk dvd 48. Funny thing is it does control an older HK receiver. Is there a way to program it for the dvd 48?

Asked by: papillon
The HK3700 is s stereo audio receiver (not audio/video). It was not expected that it would be used with a DVD player, which has different remote codes than a CD player. This is why it doesn't work. And yes, it does control an older receiver because the remote codes for all of our audio receivers are the same. Unfortunately, the remote control for our HK receivers are not programmable.

I have all my music stored on an external hard drive, can this be plugged into the USB port to play the music files?

Asked by: noname
We would advise against plugging in external hard drives directly to the receiver. We would suggest plugging the External drive to your computer, and plug the audio out of the computer into the receiver for it to play different kinds of music.
