With this many connectivity options, you may need more devices.

High-performance audio/video receiver that boasts multiple wireless connectivity options, six HDMI inputs and 700 watts of beautiful sound. Power, performance and more connectivity options than you’ll ever need: Introducing the Harman Kardon® networked AVR 1710S, the answer to any entertainment enthusiast’s hunger for performance and versatility. It’s got muscle: up to 700 watts (100 watts per channel). Its 7.2-channel A/V receiver is equipped with HARMAN TrueStream Bluetooth® connectivity, Apple AirPlay, vTuner™ Internet radio and Spotify Connect, giving you multiple options for streaming audio. And with six 3D-ready HDMI® 2.0 inputs, including one equipped for MHL to connect mobile devices, and two HDMI outputs, you’ll have more than enough ways to connect to everything you love – movies, HDTV, sports, MHL-equipped devices and the Roku Streaming Stick™ dongle. While the AVR 171’s connectivity alone makes it desirable, its sound really strikes a chord. It’s the first Harman Kardon AVR to feature our exclusive Natural Sound Processing (NSP), which creates a rich, enveloping surround-sound from any source – particularly with two-channel streaming content. And its EzSet/EQ™ III system automatically calibrates the AVR to your speakers and listening environment. The AVR 1710S is light, too, thanks to HARMAN GreenEdge™ certification – delivering all the power you need with low environmental impact. For those who want it all, the AVR 1710S can’t be matched.

AVR 1710S is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound My personal stereo has good RBH speakers, but I noticed my old amplifier did not provide enough power to really take advantage of the speakers. I had many requirements for the replacement: I wanted a new integrated amplifier to deliver at least 100 watts per channel in stereo, with separate subwoofer output. Also, because of space restrictions the amplifier had to be less than 12 inches deep. This left me with very few choices. One amplifier from Pyle which probably was not the highest quality, the HK 3770 and the HK 1710s. I only needed the amplifier for my stereo, so I did not need a 5.1 or 7.1 home theater system. Blue Tooth was a desirable but not necessary feature. I was ready to buy the HK 3770 but after I asked the question, I was told this amplifier did not have control over the cross over frequency to the subwoofer. I felt this was a necessary feature to optimize my speaker set up. So, I went for the HK 1710s even though I knew I would be paying for lots and lots of features and connections I did not need. Well, I installed the new amplifier and I am happy to report that the Harman Kardon avr 1710s “made my speakers sing”. Beautiful sound! I read a lot of complaints about the user interface and the remote. Yes, it would be nice to have bigger keys for the volume control, but the remote and user interface are adequate. I was able to set up the system very easily… even more so with only three speakers, one optical digital input and one analogue input. One feature I appreciate is the direct digital input, to let the DAC in the amplifier do the conversion. HK’s DAC plus its processing options are way superior to the DAC in my CD player. I hope the product is durable, but only time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great multi channel sound and amazing 2 channel So I got this a week ago, I think I can give a basis on what this receiver is good at and what it lacks.... I love the detail and clarity. It’s very Mid based on the audio spectrum. The mid range in this system is magical. There is a difference between audiophile sound and studio sound. This receiver by no means is studio related. But it does to direct format from sources like Dolby and dts. Up to 7.2 channels. Don’t worry if you don’t have a subwoofer. This receiver has a tone of bass. But it’s not up front Bass. Picture and 70/80’s cabinet speaker. As of Bass it goes very low and sound very nice, and there is little distortion. I am using klipsch reference speaker. So it might be different depending on your speakers.... You won’t be disappointed. I was smart and bought this refurbished for 220$ so for me this is a even better deal but even for 550$ this is a good deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing receiver Great receiver. It's so much lighter than my older receivers. The updated technology allows me to stream music from my phone wirelessly. The sound it produces is amazing. Awesome receiver!!!

The spec sheet and the ads indicate that all HDMI ports are HDMI 2.0. Yet, the user manual clearly says that the port are hdmi 1.4. Which one is it?

Asked by: Lulu
The AVR1710S only does HDCP 1.4. That's why it only provides 4K @ 30Hz and 1080p content. The AVR 1710S does not support HDCP 2.2 for 4K @ 60Hz and 2160p content. As an alternative, you may plug the source directly to your TV and just have the audio signal pass through the TV and into the AVR.

Hi! My AVR 1710S doesn't seem to pass through HDR content to my TV. UHD/4k material passes through, but not in HDR...not when the source is a Playstation 4 or Nvidia Shield. Doesn't it support HDR passtrough?

I have a speaker switch that controls multi-room speakers connected to Zone 2. I was hoping to control Zone 2 speakers with a seperate volume than Zone 1, which is the main 5:1 surround speakers. I get no response when trying to control Zone 2 volume?

can I connect a bluetooth headphone to the receiver?

Asked by: agaluga
Hi there, you cannot connect the two over Bluetooth as they are both Bluetooth receivers, not transmitters . You also cannot connect dongle on the headphone jack since it will still need to give you the option to select the speakers from a Bluetooth list. Fur further questions please contact us at https://www.harmankardon.com/support-contact.html. Have a great day!
