Place the 3770 in Bluetooth input mode with the BT button on the front panel or the remote.\r\n2. Do a BT search on the phone, until you find HK3770. Then pair with it.\r\n3. Now you can select the HK3770 as audio source on your phone, depending on the phone. On some phones, you can simply begin to play music after performing the pairing, and the HK3770 will play, if it is in Bluetooth input mode, shown on the front panel display.\r\n4. You can control play/pause etc. from either your phone or from the HK3770 remote control. If you want to use the HK3770 remote, you must first press the STEREO Button on the remote control in order to activate the correct remote codes. Now a press on the PAUSE Button on the HK3770 remote will pause the music by placing your phone on pause, and you can restart play by pressing the PLAY Button.\r\n5. To pair another source to HK3770, first deactivate BT on the source presently paired to release new pairing."},{"attributes":{"type":"FAQ__kav","url":"/services/data/v43.0/sobjects/FAQ__kav/ka0i0000000YWnzAAG"},"Title":"Is it possible to control the HD3700 from an HK3700 or HK3770 remote control?","Id":"ka0i0000000YWnzAAG","ArticleNumber":"000005405","ArticleType":"FAQ__kav","Question__c":"Is it possible to control the HD3700 from an HK3700 or HK3770 remote control?","Answer__c":"Yes, all functions on the HK remote that are meant to control the CD player will work.\r\nHowever, the ON/OFF function is not possible, but if CD is selected as source on the HK remote, pressing the PLAY button will switch the HD 3700 ON."},{"attributes":{"type":"FAQ__kav","url":"/services/data/v43.0/sobjects/FAQ__kav/ka0i0000000YYN1AAO"},"Title":"My AVR/BDS/HK shows the word \"Protection\" in the display window, and will not work.","Id":"ka0i0000000YYN1AAO","ArticleNumber":"000004113","ArticleType":"FAQ__kav","Question__c":"My AVR/BDS/HK shows the word \"Protection\" in the display window, and will not work.\r\nWhat can I do to find out if it is defective, or if there are other problems?","Answer__c":"There are five possible reasons for the receiver shutting down.\r\n\r\n1.\tThere is a problem internally with the receiver.\r\n2.\tThere is a problem with one or more of your speakers.\r\n3.\tThere is a problem with one or more of your speaker wires.\r\n4.\tThere is a problem with the speaker wiring done on your system.\r\n5.\tThe unit is overheating. No ventilation.\r\n\r\nFirst, check the wiring at every speaker terminal at the back of your receiver and at the back of your speakers. A single strand of speaker wire crossing from one terminal to another would be enough to cause the amp to shut down or go into PROTECT.\r\n\r\nIf you do not find any problems with any of the wiring, you should disconnect all speakers from your receiver. If the receiver continues to go into PROTECT, the problem is in the receiver. Please submit a case on the Contact Us page. They will be able to assist you.\r\n\r\nHowever, if it turns on, the problem is elsewhere. Begin reconnecting one speaker at a time. Eventually you will connect a speaker that will cause the receiver to shut down. At this point you have found your culprit.\r\n\r\nOn the other hand, it may just be overheating. You must have at least 2 - 3 inches of space between the top of the unit and any shelf or component above the unit. The unit should not be inside a sealed compartment when being used. The unit must be able to breath. There are very powerful amps in these receivers. If they run too hot, they will shut down. An external fan can help this."}]}

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old school analog - digital compatability Back in the day I owned an HK 640. Outstanding warm audio, square wave design. Now I have it again with the 240 watt HK3770, plus the Harman Volume feature for DVD audio in stereo. Thx.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bluetooth I recently received my Harman Kardon receiver and it’s overwhelming how the quality of my music was lacking in my other speakers, which shall not Ben names. One of my best home entertainment purchases to date.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HK 3770 is the Bomb! Just set this up, super easy; remote is a little hard to figure at first but is solid. The sound this thing reproduces is clean, rich, good lows, solid mids. My setup is 2x JBL Studio L890 towers and JBL Studio Sub 250P. It can push some some serious power and the Harman Sound button is a nice feature.

Hello, I have the HKTS 9/16 home theater system. I am interested in the 3770 receiver. My tv is mounted and Im trying to continue the wireless look for my home. Can this receiver connect to my tv wirelessly?

Asked by: saran
Yes, if your TV has a Bluetooth transmitter since the HK 3770 has a built-in Bluetooth receiver. But with this set-up, you sources (like cablebox, DVD player, etc) needs to be connected to the TV instead. The you just select Bluetooth as the source for audio on the receiver. Also, you may experience latency or audio/video sync issues when watching TV with the Bluetooth connection. I would suggest using a wired connection when connecting to avoid the said issues.

I have a HKTS 30 and will this receiver work with it

Asked by: Akumar
The HK 3770 would work wattage wise but since it's a stereo receiver and has 2 terminals which means you can only fit 2 speakers to this receiver.

Hi, I renently purchased the HK 3770 from Crutchfield. Excellent unit! I just wanted to ask a question concerning the optical inputs; Can I use one of the optical inputs on the 3770, fed from a DAC that is playing FLAC audio? Thanks.

Asked by: TommyD
If you are using a DAC, I will assume you are using the analog output of your source, which is playing the FLAC files. The DAC is converting the analog source to digital, which is then connected to the optical input on the HK3770. If all of this is correct, it doesn't matter what format the file was (FLAC, MP3, etc.) when it started being that it was sent through an analog output to the DAC, so it will work perfectly fine.
